iPhone 12 Pro: Here’s Full Specifications, Price and Features

Welcoming back the Pro 4 and 5 flat-sided design squared-off edges, Apple gave the Pro 12 a more appealing look.

The iPhone 12 Pro comes in a 6.1-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2532 x 1170 with 460 pixels per inch with HDR10 display with 1200 nits peak brightness, true tone, wide color, and haptic touch.

The phone is 5.78 inches in length (146.6mm), 2.82 inches wide (71.5mm), and 0.29 inches thick (7.4mm) Due to its fragility, Apple brought in a ceramic shield infused with nano-ceramic crystals to protect the display.

The iPhone 12 Pro which comes with a 5G connectivity is powered by Apple’s new groundbreaking invention chip the A14 Bionic chip, which has a 16-core neutral engine that offers an amazing 80 percent increase in performance for machine learning tasks.

New image signal processor and computational photography capabilities are now powered by the new A14 chip enhancing night mode for the front-facing TrueDepth camera and the Ultra-Wide camera, and Deep Fusion is available for all cameras.

Only the US-based Pro 12 comes with its new 5G mmWave antenna. The Pro 12 power button is on the right side while the volume button is on the left. Antenna bands are distributed on the top and sides as well.

Design

The Apple iPhone 12 pro has the same edge-to-edge screen with a flat-sided which was last seen with the pro4 and 5. The base of the Pro 12 houses the speaker holes and built-in microphones, along with a Lightning port that supports charging over Lightning with the SIM slot being moved to the left.

Its TrueDepth Camera, speaker, and microphone maintain the sport like its predecessor.

The iPhone 12 Pro triple-lens camera setup along with a flash and a new LiDAR sensor in a square bump arrangement is at the rear top with the Apple logo beneath it.

Water Resistance

The iPhone 12 is designed to hold up to splashes, rain, and accidental water exposure, but intentional water exposure should be avoided if possible as the Pro 12 can only withstand a depth of up to 19.7 feet for up to 30 minutes of submersion according to an IP68 water-resistant rating.

The Pro 12 also resists dirt, dust, and other particulates even though this rating isn’t a permanent condition.

Size and Coloration

Display

The OLED comes with a Super Retina XDR display with a 6.1-inches screen. The Pro 12 comes with superior video quality all thanks to the HDR video.

The wide-color P3 screens also boast a 2-million-to-1 contrast ratio, 800 nits maximum brightness, 1,200 nits of max brightness for HDR, and TrueTone support.

Coming with a protective Ceramic Shield front cover, which is one of Apple’s innovations for the Pro 12with a drop performance by 4x.”

Pricing

The Apple iPhone 12 Pro launched on October 23. Cost as much as $999 for 128GB of storage, with 256 and 512GB of storage available was placed at $1,099 and $1,299, respectively.

5G Connectivity

Both the mmWave and Sub-6GHz 5G, which are the two types of 5G, are available with the Apple iPhone Pro 12. With the widespread availability of the Sub-6GHz 5G in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

Rear Camera

With Apple still maintaining the three 12-megapixel camera settings at the back, covering Ultra Wide, Wide, and Telephoto ranges, with 4x optical zoom in, 2x optical zoom out, and a 10x digital zoom in.

Another fantastic new addition to the Pro 12 is the DSLR-style shift. The Apple iPhone 12 comes with a LiDAR sensor on the rear camera setup for which can perform time-of-flight calculations to generate a 3D map of the surrounding area. This is similar to the TrueDepth camera’s capabilities but on the back of the iPhone.
