How to create a survey on Google Forms and share it with others to collect their responses
Create surveys for people to fill out with Google Forms, a free and practical tool. It can be used for study but also just for fun because you can personalize the questions and answer choices. Once your survey is finished, you may rapidly distribute it by email, link, or website embedding.
How to create a Google Forms survey
To create a Google Form survey:
- Go to Google Drive and sign in to your Google account.
- Click the red “New” button in the top left corner of the page, then click “Google Forms” from the dropdown menu.
- A new tab will open with a blank form.
- To add a question to the form, click the “+” button.
- Select the type of question you want to add from the list, such as “Multiple choice” or “Short answer.”
- Type your question into the text field, and add any additional options or settings as necessary.
- Repeat this process for each question you want to add to your survey.
- When you are finished adding questions, you can customize the design of your form by clicking on the “Theme” button in the top right corner of the page.
- When you are satisfied with your form, click the “Send” button to send it to your recipients. You can choose to send it via email, share a link to the form, or embed it on a website.
How to share your Google Forms survey
To share a Google Form:
- Open the form in Google Forms.
- Click the “Send” button in the top right corner of the form.
- Select the method you want to use to share the form:
- To share the form via a link, click the “Link” tab and then copy the link provided. You can then send this link to anyone you want to be able to access the form.
- To share the form via email, click the “Email” tab, enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite to the form, and then click the “Send” button.
- To share the form via a social media platform, click the “Social” tab, select the platform you want to use, and then click the “Share” button.
- To share the form via a QR code, click the “QR Code” tab and then scan the QR code with a device that has a QR code reader.
- If you want to restrict access to the form, click the “Edit” button next to the “Who has access” field and then select one of the options provided.
You can also control how people can fill out the form by clicking the “Edit” button next to the “Responses” field and then selecting one of the options provided.
