To mention someone in a status on the Facebook website, follow these steps:
- Go to the Facebook website and log in to your account.
- Click on the “What’s on your mind?” field at the top of the page.
- Type in your status and use the “@” symbol to mention someone. For example, “@John Smith” or “@Jane Doe.”
- A list of friends will appear as you start typing the name. Select the correct person from the list.
- The person’s name will be highlighted in blue after you select them. This indicates that they have been mentioned in your status.
- Click “Post” to share your status with your friends on Facebook.
Note: You can only mention someone in your status if you are friends with them on Facebook.

Note: You can only mention people who are your friends on Facebook or who have liked your Page.

- The name of the person you tagged will appear in your status, highlighted in blue.
