How to post a video on Steam using your YouTube account, and share gameplay on your profile
It’s no secret that there are several platforms and methods for posting videos online.
Even the biggest digital gaming platform in the world, Steam, allows its players to publish gameplay footage of their preferred games.
Sadly, you can’t post videos from your computer straight to the Steam app.
However, users can add YouTube videos they’ve uploaded to Steam by linking their YouTube channel to their Steam account. Both a Mac and a PC can be used for this.
Here’s how to upload a YouTube video to Steam.
How to post a video on Steam using your YouTube account
To post a video on Steam using your YouTube account, follow these steps:
- Go to the Steam client and log in to your account.
- Click on the “Community” tab in the main menu.
- Click on the “Videos” option in the menu on the left side of the screen.
- Click on the “Upload Video” button.
- Select the “YouTube” option from the dropdown menu.
- Enter the URL of the video you want to post on Steam. The video must be hosted on your YouTube channel.
- Click on the “Preview” button to preview the video.
- If everything looks good, click on the “Publish” button to post the video on Steam.
Note: You will need to have linked your Steam and YouTube accounts in order to post videos on Steam using your YouTube account. To link your accounts, go to the “Edit Profile” page in the Steam client and click on the “Connect” button under the “YouTube” section. Follow the prompts to complete the account linking process.
